Why the lane box is potted in resin
Pool decks are wet, chlorinated and unforgiving. Instead of sealing the lane box, we fill it.

Every lane gets its own box. It timestamps its five inputs independently and keeps its own record, so a failure in one lane never touches another.
No membrane, no moisture sensor
Gaskets age and sensors only tell you that water already got in. Potting the electronics in resin makes the box waterproof by construction and keeps the design simple.
One cable along the pool
- Boxes are chained with a pigtail and socket, no T-pieces on the deck.
- CAN bus over an 8-pin M12 connector, with a dedicated START line.
- If one box fails, the bus keeps running for every other lane.
- Each box has a fixed lane number. A setup assistant is only needed for spares.
Lane box inputs
- Touchpad
- 4 mm banana
- Start block, reaction time
- 4 mm banana
- Push buttons
- 3 × 4 mm banana
- Split times
- On every input
Simple enough to repair on a pool deck, robust enough that nobody has to.
